Turn any restaurant's menu into a wine proposal from your portfolio.
Upload a photo or PDF of a restaurant's food menu. Wineater matches the dishes to your catalog and drafts a proposal your sales rep can edit and send.
- Built on the same engine as the widget and the QR menu
- Works from your price list: Excel, PDF or API
- No complex IT integration

Proposals take hours. Staff avoid the wines your margin depends on.
Sales reps lose hours building a proposal for each restaurant. And restaurant staff often fear selling complex wines, so the venue sells only the basic bottles and you lose margin.
The proposal generator, the QR loyalty menu and the widget are live. Data insights come in a later phase.
Four modules, one platform
A sales tool for your reps, a loyalty tool for your restaurants.
B2B proposal generator
Your rep uploads a photo or PDF of a restaurant's menu. Wineater reads the dishes and groups wines from your portfolio into pairings for them.
QR loyalty menu for restaurants
Give your restaurants a QR menu with a virtual sommelier. Your wines are marked as priority, so the sommelier ranks them higher when they fit the dish.
Widget for your site
A smart search on your online catalog: buyers write what they need instead of using filters.
Data insights
Portfolio gap analysis and a menu heatmap, built from the menus and requests you collect. A later phase.
From a menu to a proposal
One session for your rep, from the restaurant's card to a proposal ready to send.
Add the restaurant
Create the prospect and upload a photo or PDF of its food menu.
Check the dishes
Wineater reads the menu. Your rep fixes anything it got wrong.
Review the proposal
Wines from your portfolio are grouped by dish category, each with a short reason. Replace, remove or pin any wine.
Send it
Share a link or export a PDF. After the deal, the restaurant gets a QR menu where your wines are marked as priority.

See what your portfolio is missing
Two reports for the owner or the buyer. They need data to be useful, so they come after you have collected enough menus.
Portfolio gap analysis
Which wines people look for in restaurants that your catalog does not have: a list of purchase opportunities.
Menu heatmap
Which dishes and ingredients recur across the menus you have analysed, so you know which wines are missing from your warehouse.
How Wineater thinks
Every request is read on five axes and matched against every wine you stock.
- FoodThe dish, the cooking, the sauce.
- TasteBody, acidity, sweetness, style.
- OriginCountry, region, appellation.
- OccasionA dinner, a gift, a party.
- How it's madeNatural, organic, aged.
Then four bottles are chosen for the kind of buyer who asked: a safe pick for a novice, a discovery for a geek.
- Only wines from your own catalog
- A moderate boost for the products you promote
- Answers in the shop's language
What it costs
$99 a month. Includes the widget for your site and the wine list builder, which drafts wine-list proposals for restaurants from their menu.
Common questions
What is Wineater for distributors?
A sales tool for your reps and a loyalty tool for your restaurants, built on the Wineater engine: a proposal generator that turns a restaurant's menu into wines from your portfolio, a QR menu where your wines are marked as priority, a widget for your online catalog and, in a later phase, portfolio gap analysis and a menu heatmap.
Is it available today?
The proposal generator, the QR loyalty menu and the widget for your site are live, with a wine list builder your reps use to draft a proposal from a restaurant's menu. Data insights (portfolio gaps, menu heatmap) come in a later phase. Talk to us to see it on your own portfolio.
Do we need an IT integration?
No complex integration. We need your current price list or catalog (Excel, PDF or API), and we set the rest up with you.
How do priority wines work?
Wines you mark as promoted get a moderate boost in ranking. Recommendations still come only from the restaurant's own list, and a promoted wine ranks higher only when it fits what the guest asked.
In which languages does it work?
Recommendations are written in the language of each store. The sales tool's own interface is currently in English only.
